Trypan Blue

What it is

Trypan blue is a dye used in eye surgery to help doctors see certain parts of the eye more clearly during a procedure called vitrectomy. It is usually given by an eye doctor.

Trypan blue is used to stain the epiretinal membranes and the anterior capsule of the lens during ophthalmic surgical vitrectomy procedures. This helps doctors see these parts of the eye more clearly during surgery.
