Common side effects
Most people have no side effects. However, if a hypotonic solution enters the circulation, it can cause hemolysis. Fluid and/or solute overloading can also occur, leading to dilution of serum electrolyte concentrations, overhydration, congested states, or pulmonary edema.

Who should not take it
Do not use Sodium Chloride for injection. Do not heat Sodium Chloride solution above 66° C (150° F).
